WEBBER WILDCATS BASEBALL

The Webber Wildcats are an elite amateur baseball organization based in Springbank, AB, minutes west of Calgary. In 2021, Webber Wildcats Baseball emerged as a competitive program for high-school players interested in pursuing college baseball. With 50 players spread across three teams (two 18U teams and one 15U AA team), the Webber Wildcats created its College Prep Team, a travel team designed for players to face the highest level of competition possible before transitioning from high school to college baseball. The Webber Wildcats also created a Junior Prep team and gained their entry into the 18U AAA Baseball Alberta after starting the season in 18U AA. The 2022/2023 campaign for the Webber Wildcats saw the program grow to three 18U teams and two 15U teams comprised of 75 players program-wide. The College Prep team faced a significantly more challenging schedule and managed to compete against some of the top programs in Alberta. The 18U AAA team finished second place in Baseball Alberta, granting them a birth in the Baseball Alberta Elite League (BAEL), where they will continue to compete against the top programs in Alberta in future years.

In two years of operation, the Webber Wildcats has seen 100% of its program graduates move on to collegiate programs. With plans to continue to grow and gain notoriety amongst the top baseball programs in Canada, the Wildcats continue to develop players and strive to build an individual plan for all players. As players grow, we value finding new ways to approach development and encourage them to actively participate in all facets of their development. Webber Wildcats coaches and staff are committed to finding suitable college placements for all program graduates based on their academic and athletic goals.

With a professional and skilled coaching staff led by former MLB Pitcher Chris Reitsma, former MiLB Manager and Hitting Coach Cole Armstrong Webber Wildcats coaches and staff work tirelessly to ensure players have every opportunity to develop as baseball players and grow as young men to contribute positively to their communities.

ABOUT WEBBER WILDCATS

Webber Wildcats Baseball Association was founded in 2021 after Dr. Neil Webber recognized the City of Calgary’s need for youth baseball fields. Dr. Webber purchased five hundred thirty acres of land in Rocky View County just west of the city limits, hoping to establish a lasting presence in the Calgary baseball community. Ground was broken in August 2020 for a new Webber Academy Athletic park, including four baseball fields, a soccer pitch, and a 50,000-square-foot indoor training facility.

Our mission is to provide a positive baseball experience for as many ages and skill levels as possible. We offer introductory programming with Wildcats Baseball Camps and Clinics and year-round high-performance development. Depending on the time of year, players can participate in single-day sessions, skill-specific off-season training, and competitive summer baseball teams.

At Wildcats Baseball, we believe in finding better ways to develop young baseball players. Our coaching staff is open-minded and knowledgeable. As players grow, we value new approaches to development and strive to find methods that apply to youth.

Wildcats Baseball is proud to offer various baseball development programs and a college preparatory program. Our baseball development programs offer position-specific and generalized training to accommodate all commitment and skill levels. Our college preparatory program is designed to develop high school baseball players in the City of Calgary and surrounding areas and help them find appropriate post-secondary baseball programs to continue their playing and academic careers.
