Wildcats Head south for spring
The Webber Wildcats 18U Program headed south the Phoenix, Arizona March 19 - 28 for some games, practices, and team-bonding in preparation for the season. Games began in Tuscon, where the Prep Team participated in the Tuscon Invitational Games. After splitting with the White Rock Tritons on Day 1 they would drop a pair of games to the Langley Blaze Pro Tour (a collection of players from across the country including the Wildcats taking on Minor League and College teams across Arizona). One final game against White Rock and a Workout at Pima Community College remained before they headed north to Mesa. They would then take on Park University and the North Shore Twins for 4 games to wrap up their trip. After a game with Arizona Christian University JV, Varsity joined AAA and AA at the Game Day USA Mesa Spring Training Event March 24 - 28. All 3 teams would play multiple games against programs from Canada and Northern USA, mixing in a few practices to iron out the wrinkles and of course, soaking up as much sun and heat as they could. A program wide team bonding event to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks 2nd regular season game of the year against the Chicago Cubs would cap off a fun and productive trip south of the border!
